I’m lucky enough to live in a beautiful part of New Zealand – Mount Maunganui. It’s a relaxed beach town and a favourite summer destination. It is the perfect place for me and my busy household.
I’ve always been a passionate people-person however, after running a variety of businesses over the years, from furniture and homewares to importing, real estate and consulting. When the world pandemic hit I knew I needed to make some changes.
After a recent solo trip to Italy, I stumbled upon this online business in Personal Development, and it really resonated with me and has been the best decision yet. It gives me time freedom to travel more and spend quality time with those I love.
I love being part of a global community of people striving to achieve amazing things.
WHAT LED ME HERE: I’ve been running my own businesses for years, but the path to my online journey started with a background in interior design, which led me to a successful homewares and furniture importing business.
I loved sourcing unique pieces from incredibly talented local artisans across the globe, but when the world pandemic hit, this changed the entire business. Selling these special pieces online just wasn’t viable anymore.
Fortunately, I exited at the right time. I spent some time in real estate, which was rewarding, but taught me the hard knocks – being part of people’s biggest purchasing decisions is a privilege and I loved celebrating their wins, but it’s also a lot of hard work and requires you to be constantly available.
All of that experience made me realise I wanted a business that was flexible, purely online, and focused on helping people grow.
DISCOVERING WHAT REALLY MATTERED: Thankfully, the wins have made my entrepreneurial journey worth it! After choosing to be a stay-at-home mum for many years, coming back into the workforce was a real confidence test.
A recent six week solo trip to Italy was a game-changer for me. It made me realise what I truly wanted in life: freedom, portability and a business that fits around my life, not the other way around.
These experiences have taught me resilience, the importance of being surrounded by people who understand and nurture you to be the best version of yourself.
THE MOMENT THAT CHANGED MY PATH: I’ve always been fascinated by what makes people tick and how we can grow and improve ourselves.
My mum’s advice, “Put your best foot forward, and if you’re unsure about something, go and find out,” has guided me throughout life.
I’ve always taken opportunities as they’ve come, learning from every experience and working on my mindset.
Having someone to mentor you and knowing you’re not alone while building your confidence and business is incredibly valuable.
